Glacier's 3d Stuff
I've been doing some fooling around with some 3D software to get a feel for what I can do with it. I decided to put a gallery of some of my pictures up for friends and family to view and download for wallpaper if desired. You'll notice that the site itself is fairly simple, I didn't want to make a slow loading graphically laden page.
With each of the thumbnails there is a caption describing the picture and giving credit if it's due elsewhere. For example, I've imported various models into some of the scenes. These models were created by someone else and available for free on the internet.
One of the sites where I've grabbed 3D models from is Wolf 359. Most other sites that I've grabbed models from are linked from this site. I just haven't used them all.
Another great site that has had some influence on some of my work is Digital Blasphemy. This is a really cool site that has a lot of really nice scenes.
So far, my pictures have been rendered on a classic P166. I'd love to work with some heavier rendering at some point, including animations. Since the 166 is so slow, I'll hold my ideas until I have a much faster machine.
